Fourteen Area Golfers Named All-State

The Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association has announced its 2017 boys golf all-state teams.

Fourteen northern Michigan athletes have honored, with Big Rapids sophomore Pierce Morrissey being one of eight golfers in the state named to the Super Team.

Below is a listing of local athletes earning all-state honors.

Division 2 All-State Honorable Mention

Brendon Gouin (Sophomore) – Gaylord

Division 3 All-State Team

Jonathon Damzyn (Junior) – Gladwin

Brock Decker (Junior) – Houghton Lake

Matt Good (Senior) – Charlevoix

Keaton Inglis (Senior) – Shelby

Division 3 All-State Honorable Mention

Nick Althouse (Junior) – Chippewa Hills

Jackson Blanchard (Junior) – Houghton Lake

Robert Burnell (Senior) – Chippewa Hills

Ryan Navin (Senior) – Traverse City St. Francis

Division 4 All-State Team

Thomas Hursey (Junior) – Suttons Bay

Cole Ketterer (Junior) – Harbor Springs

Division 4 All-State Honorable Mention

Jordan Hurst (Senior) – Inland Lakes
