Inland Lakes Cruises Past Rogers City in Quarters


GAYLORD – The top-ranked Inland Lakes softball team punched its return ticket to the Division 4 state semifinals with an 11-1 win over No. 4 Rogers City on Tuesday.

In a rematch of last year’s Division 4 state quarterfinals, the Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead in the third inning thanks to a two-run home run from Maddy Milner. Pamela Braund and ace Cloe Mallory would add solo home runs in the fourth to push led to 5-1 through four.

Still leading 5-1 in the top of the sixth, the Bulldogs tacked on three more insurance runs.

Inland Lakes will now take on Kalamazoo Christian at Michigan State on Friday at 10 a.m.
