Baldwin softball drops a pair against Onekama

BADLWIN – Onekama traveled to Baldwin on Monday for a West Michigan D League softball doubleheader, winning game one, 17-11, and game two, 15-0.

In game one, the Portagers wasted zero time getting on the board, with Lauren Johnson hitting an RBI single to center field. Alyssan Clarke scored on the play to make it a 1-0 ballgame.

Baldwin responded in the bottom half of the inning, giving pitcher Madison Simpson early run support. The Panthers loaded the bases and on a wild pitch, Kiera Barker scored their first run of the game. Baldwin scored three runs in the first, two coming on passed balls and the third coming on a walk.

In the second inning, the Panthers added another run off the bat of Makayla George, who hit a hard line drive to center to score Diamond Cannon.
