Kalkaska Splits with Boyne City, Finishes 2nd in LMC

BOYNE CITY – The Kalkaska baseball team secured a second-place finish in the Lake Michigan Conference with a twinbill split with Boyne City on Monday.

The Blazers dropped the opener, 5-3, before taking the nightcap, 4-1.   

Dom Archey led the way for the Ramblers in the opener with two doubles and a pair of RBIs, while Derek Willis picked up the win, striking out six and allowing one earned run.

Robin VanOrden took the loss, giving only one earned run while fanning seven.

The Ramblers were limited to three hits in the nightcap.

Boyne City finishes third in the LMC.
