Mt. Pleasant Tops Cadillac, Claims D2 District Crown

CADILLAC – The Mt. Pleasant girls soccer team claimed its first Division 2 district championship since winning back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014 via a 3-1 win over Cadillac on Saturday.

Madilyn Brown opened the scoring for the Oilers less than four minutes into the first half, with Hannah Kahn giving Mt. Pleasant a 2-0 lead midway through the first.

Alexus Little would respond for the Vikings (17-3-3) with 17 minutes remaining in the half to trim Cadillac’s deficit to one by halftime.

Mt. Pleasant advances to a regional semifinal Tuesday at Coopersville.
