Red Wings Sign Mrazek to Two-Year Deal

The Detroit Red Wings and goaltender Petr Mrazek have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension, the organization announced Wednesday.

The deal, reportedly worth $8 million, meant Detroit was able to avoid arbitration with the 24-year-old goalie.

A fifth-round selection by the Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Draft, Mrazek went 27-16-6 with four shutouts in 54 appearances for Detroit during the 2015-16 season. In four seasons with Detroit, Mrazek is 46-30-8 with nine shutouts and a 2.29 GAA.
