Chippewa Hills Embarks on 50th Season
REMUS – With an experienced roster, Chippewa Hills is set to embark on its 50th season of high school football in 2016.
The Warriors will look to make 2016 a memorable one after capturing the program’s first district championship last year via 35-12 win over conference rival Big Rapids.
With more than a dozen seniors returning, Chippewa Hills will look to better last year’s second-place finish in the Central State Activities Association Gold division and reach the postseason for the sixth straight season under coach Larry Jose.
"I think we have 15 or 16 seniors this year which is good, but even the juniors coming up, you know, we ended last year with the game in the regionals which gave us three weeks where we had all of the sophomores up,” Jose said. “The juniors have got a half a year of experience there and that’s really turning out to help us.”
Chippewa Hills opens its season at Haslett on Aug. 25 and closes out the year by hosting state power Beal City on Oct. 21.
