Johannesburg-Lewiston Dominates Mancelona

JOHANNESBURG – The Johannesburg-Lewiston football program opened its 2016 season by rolling to a 46-12 win over former Ski Valley Conference foe Mancelona on Friday.

Trailing 6-0 early, the Cardinals (1-0) responded to take an 8-6 lead after the first quarter and led 32-6 at the half.  

Jacob Marsh led Johannesburg-Lewiston on the ground with 127 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Dominic Cassisi had 108 yards and a score on 10 carries.

Tyson Clayes completed 5-of-7 passes for 105 yards.

Mancelona (0-1) hits the road again, traveling to Kalkaska on Thursday, while Johannesburg-Lewiston visits Manton on Friday.
