Suttons Bay Opens Second Year Under Kohler

SUTTONS BAY – A consistent playoff program in the 2000s, Suttons Bay is looking to duplicate that success under second-year coach Alex Kohler.

A year after going 9-2 and reaching the postseason, the Norsemen took a step back in 2015, dropping their first five games to begin their tenure with Kohler.

With seven seniors returning this fall, Suttons Bay is eyeing its 12th trip to the playoffs since 2000.

“Everybody’s just getting along well out here. There’s no arguing, no complaining. They’re a good unit together,” Kohler said. “It goes back to them being focused and knowing their jobs and their roles.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing how we do as a team and how much we’ve developed,” added senior Baylor Mikesell. “I think we’ve developed a lot and I’m really looking forward to seeing that come out through all of us.”

Suttons Bay opens its season with three consecutive home games, hosting East Jordan on Aug. 25.
