Ferris State’s Lampman Signs with Saints’ Practice Squad

BIG RAPIDS – Former Ferris State wide receiver Jake Lampman has signed with the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad for the 2016 season, the organization announced Tuesday.

Lampman was among three former Ferris State players (Jason Vander Laan, Justin Zimmer) to participate in NFL Training Camps this summer and is one of two wideouts on the Saints’ practice squad. As a member of the practice team, Lampman can be elevated to the active roster during the season.

Lampman appeared in three preseason games for the Saints, recording a 19-yard catch.

A 2016 graduate, Lampman concluded his collegiate campaign in 2015, tallying 731 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 52 catches while earning First Team All-GLIAC honors.

Lampman and the Saints open their 2016 regular season Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
