T-shirt Sale Competition Highlights TC Patriot Game

TRAVERSE CITY – One of the highly anticipated traditions of the Traverse City Patriot Game is the annual T-shirt sales competition between rivals Traverse City Central and West.

Now in its fifth year, this year’s sale of T-shirts benefits the Traverse City branch of Veteran 2 Veteran Mentoring, an organization that partners veteran mentors with veterans returning from service and adjusting to civilian life.

"We are so competitive. Whenever we want to motivate anyone in our school to get out there and do something, we always contact Central and make it a competition,” West senior Dani Priest said. “Then everyone is just head over heels, like, going for it."

"It’s a healthy competitive relationship between us, and we’re using it for a really good cause,” added Central senior Sarah Berry. “I want to see them do well, and I want to see us do well, as well. It’s just more money that we can give to the organizations, more support for them. So the better that they do, the better that we do."

T-shirts are available in blue (West) and red (Central).

In addition to T-shirt sales, both schools are selling pre-sale tickets.

T-shirts are available for purchase at area car dealers and at Central and West’s athletic offices. For a full listing of locations, visit www.tcpatriotgame.com/tshirts.
