Central Michigan Tops Ball State in Homecoming Game
MT. PLEASANT – Central Michigan bounced back from its two-game losing streak to defeat Ball State, 24-21, for the Chippewas’ homecoming game.
Ball State took the lead in the first quarter on a James Gilbert touchdown run, but Central Michigan bounced back with a touchdown from Devon Spalding from the 1-yard line.
With less than a minute left, CMU drove down the field, thanks to a long run by Spalding to set them up at the Ball State 21-yard line. Cooper Rush hit Corey Willis with seven seconds left in the first half to take a 17-7 lead.
With the win, Central Michigan improves to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
