McBain NMC Shuts Out Pine River, Advances to District Final

MCBAIN – Behind an eight-goal output in the first half, the McBain Northern Michigan Christian boys soccer team handed visiting Pine River an 8-0 loss on Wednesday in a Division 4 district final.

The Comets took a 3-0 lead in the opening five minutes of the contest and never looked back.

Tanner Mulder paced the NMC offense with three goals, while Grant Pogue chipped in with two.

Ryan Yahner, Jordan Mosher and Carson Bassett all tallied on goal apiece.

McBain NMC will now host Buckley on Friday for the district title. The Bears were 6-0 winners over Big Rapids Crossroads on Wednesday.

Friday’s match is slated for 4 p.m.
