CLARE – A three-goal effort in overtime lifted the Roscommon boys soccer team to a 4-1 win over McBain Northern Michigan Christian in a Northern Michigan Soccer League crossover tournament semifinal on Monday.
Trailing 1-0 with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, NMC’s Chase Gernaat redirected a corner kick into the net to send the game into overtime.
Roscommon’s Gage Sarna broke open the scoring for the Bucks with an early first-half goal.
The Bucks (17-1-1) advance to Wednesday’s tournament final at Clare, where they will take on No. 11 Gladwin.
McBain NMC will face Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian in the consolation championship game on Wednesday at Houghton Lake.
