GRANT – Grant volleyball athletes Laura Bouwkamp and Sierra Schuitema each signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to continue their careers at the collegiate level.
Schuitema committed to Cedarville (Ohio) University, while Bouwkamp will stay in state and continue her education at Davenport University.
“These two young ladies are tremendously hard workers,” coach Tricia Schuitema said. “They aspire to be awesome at everything they do, they are wonderful leaders, and they have integrity and character. I’ve truly been blessed to have the opportunity to coach them.”
A member of the AVCA Under Armour All-American Watchlist, Bouwkamp received Class B All-State honorable mention accolades in 2015 and Lakes 8 Conference First Team All-Conference honors in 2015 and 2014.
An outside hitter, Bouwkamp plans to study nursing.
Schuitema was named to the 2015 Class B First Team All-State and 2014 Class B Second Team All-State teams and joined Bouwkamp on the AVCA Under Armour All-American Watchlist.
The starting setter, Schuitema will study pharmaceutical sciences.
Bouwkamp and Schuitema lead the Tigers against Holland Christian in a regional final at Fremont Thursday.
