Inland Lakes’ Mallory Signs with CMU

INDIAN RIVER – Inland Lakes senior pitcher Cloe Mallory signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to play at Central Michigan University next year.

A Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Division 4 first team All-State honoree, Mallory led the Bulldogs to their first state semifinal appearance since 1999 last year and first-ever state championship berth, losing 1-0 in a pitchers’ duel to Unionville-Sebewaing.

"With hard work, and dedication, you definitely have possibilities, from anywhere you’re at,” Mallory said. “That was a big thing for me, I just wanted to be a role model for all of the younger kids coming out of here… being in a small town, just making sure that they know that, ‘Hey, you can do this.’ Anything that you put your mind to, you can do it. Yeah, for sure, it’s been a dream for a long time."

Mallory joins a storied program at CMU, which has won 10 Mid-American Conference Tournament championships and made the NCAA Tournament 13 times.
