TC West’s Dy Named Miss Golf

TRAVERSE CITY – Traverse City West sophomore Anika Dy has been awarded the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association’s Miss Golf award.

A medalist in 10 of the 13 events she competed in this year, including the Division 1 individual state championship, Dy led the Titans to a fourth-place finish at the state finals in October and the program’s first-ever state championship in 2015.

Dy is joined on the Super Team by Glen Lake senior Nichole Cox. In October, Cox claimed her fourth consecutive Division 4 regional title and third straight Division 4 individual state championship. She will continue her career at Bowling Green next fall.

West senior Hunter Kehoe was also honored, being named to the Division 1 All-State team, while Petoskey’s Grace Kelbel was name to the Division 2 All-State Team. Traverse City Central’s Carley Laird received honorable mention accolades in Division 2

Seven area teams named Academic All-State

Seven local teams also received Academic All-State honors by the MIGCA.

Traverse City West, Traverse City Central, Petoskey, Big Rapids, Lakeview, Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart and Harbor Springs were all honored for their performance in the classroom.
