Johnston Leads Beaverton Past Sanford Meridian

SANFORD – The Beaverton boys basketball team improved to 4-0 on the year with a 43-37 Jack Pine Conference win over Sanford Meridian on Friday.

The Beavers (4-0, 3-0) took a 12-8 lead after the first quarter.

Carter Johnston led Beaverton with a game-high 31 points, while Nate Taylor Chipped in with six.

Taylor Woodcock and Brett Bohn tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Mustangs.

Sanford Meridian (2-1, 2-1) travels to Saginaw Nouvel Tuesday, while Beaverton visits Midland Dow on Thursday.
