Elk Rapids’ Alec Trautman Signs with Dayton
ELK RAPIDS – Elk Rapids quarterback and linebacker Alec Trautman signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to continue his career at the University of Dayton in the fall.
A year after Elk Rapids went winless (0-8), Trautman led the Elks to a pair of wins in 2016 as one of the few returning starters.
Trautman’s brother Adam Trautman is currently a redshirt freshman tight end at Dayton.
Trautman joins a Flyer squad that went 9-2 in 2016 and finished second in the Pioneer Football League with a 7-1 record. He’ll also be joined by fellow Northern Michigan Football League Legends foe and Traverse City St. Francis senior Michael Hegewald, who announced his commitment to Dayton on Wednesday.
