Former TC West Star Lukusa Leaving MSU

According to multiple reports, Traverse City native and former West star student-athlete Thiyo Lukusa is leaving the Michigan State football program.

Lukusa, who spent three seasons at West before transferring to DePaul Catholic (N.J.) High School for his final prep season, appeared in seven games on the offensive line for the Spartans in 2016. During his high school career, Lukusa was listed as a four-star recruit by a number of recruiting services and was considered to be among the nation’s best offensive lineman/guards. Lukusa was a three-sport athlete at West, lettering on the school’s boys basketball and track and field programs.

A true freshman at 6-foot-5, 333-pounds, Lukusa was projected to be a starter at right tackle for MSU in 2017.
