Ferris State Football Readies for Spring Game

BIG RAPIDS – The Ferris State football program has set its expectations higher and higher each season under sixth-year coach Tony Annese.

On the heels of last year’s NCAA Division II national semifinal appearance, Ferris State will give fans their first glimpse of the 2017 Bulldogs on Saturday during the programs annual spring game.

Ferris State returns a number of key starters from last season’s 12-3 squad, especially in the offensive backfield and defensive secondary.

For a team that went deep into the postseason in 2016, it feel like its picking up right where it left off last fall.

"It wasn’t that long ago, actually. We went all the way up to Dec. 10. So, it’s been good though,” Annese said. “Our energy level has been great. The kids make it fun for me, because they want to be out here having a good time and working hard. So we’re getting a lot done in a short period of time."

Saturday’s spring game from Top Taggart Field is set for 1 p.m
