TC St. Francis Coach Keith Haske Resigns

TRAVERSE CITY – Traverse City St. Francis boys and girls basketball coach Keith Haske has announced his resignation, MISportsNow confirmed Tuesday.

The longtime northern Michigan high school basketball coach spent the last seven years at St. Francis and has been battling stage IV throat cancer, which returned for a second time last fall.

Despite his diagnosis, Haske had been at all but a handful of games and practices during the 2016-17 season, returning to the bench in December.

Under Haske’s leadership, the St. Francis boys and girls won a combined 35 games this winter.

In addition to coaching St. Francis, Haske spent 13 years each at St. Johns and Charlevoix.
