Cadillac’s Huckle Inks with Alma College

CADILLAC – Cadillac senior lacrosse player Tommy Huckle signed a letter of intent on Wednesday, committing to Alma College.

A four-year starter, Huckle has tallied 19 goals this spring and has Cadillac off to an 8-1 start.

“I started when I was really young. A lot of the older kids were playing, and I saw sticks, so I started messing around with them. I thought this is kind of cool,” Huckle said. “Through the years, it progressed, and I was like, ‘Wow, I really like this and I want to get really good at it.’ Eventually got to a point where I thought, ‘Wow, college could really be an opportunity for me.’ So yeah, I’m excited. I’m glad it did evolve to where it did because I’m not ready to give it up yet. I want to keep playing. Glad I’m finally at the stage where I get to finally sign myself and pursue my dream.”

After leading Cadillac to a Northern Michigan Lacrosse Conference championship in 2016, Huckle joins an Alma program that has appeared in the last two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament finals and has gone 36-17 over the last three seasons.

“Tommy has turned into a workhorse,” Cadillac coach Jeff Rork said in a statement. “This kid strives for the pressure moments and isn’t afraid to have the game on his shoulders. He is tough, tough, tough. He is always willing to sell out for his teammates.”

Huckle plans to study either business management or political science at Alma.
