Hillman Splits with Inland Lakes

HILLMAN – The Hillman baseball team earned a doubleheader split with visiting Inland Lakes on Tuesday.

Hillman rallied for a 12-8 win in the opener before falling 9-7 in the nightcap.

In the opener, the Tigers led 1-0 after the first inning but trailed 3-2 after three.

Nash Steinke earned the win for Hillman, striking out six and allowing four runs on five hits over five innings.

Caine Hunt went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Jared Juergens was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

In the nightcap, Hunt went 2-for-2 with three runs.

Inland Lakes Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian on Thursday, while Hillman travels to Rogers City on Thursday.
