Big Rapids Places Second In State Tournament

BIG RAPIDS – The Big Rapids boys golf team finished second in the state in the Division 3 Boys Golf Finals, while Charlevoix’s Matt Good finished tied for first place in the individual Division 3 tournament, shooting a 150 through two rounds. He tied Tawas Area’s Daniel Shattuck for the top spot.

Lumen Christi came in first place, beating the Cardinals by eight strokes.

Charlevoix finished in eighth place, with Ogemaw Heights and Shepherd also placing in the top 20.

Big Rapids’ Pierce Morrissey and Houghton Lake’s Brock Decker were a part of a three way tie for fifth, shooting a 154 through two days.

In Division 4, Harbor Springs finished in ninth place, with Manistee Catholic Central and Frankfort coming in 11th and 12th, respectively.

Harbor Springs’ Cole Ketterer finished in fourth place in the individual tournament for Division 4.

Gaylord placed 11th and Petoskey finished 18th in Division 2, while Traverse City West finished in 16th place of Division 1.
