Detroit’s Nosek Taken by Vegas Golden Knights in Expansion Draft
Detroit Red Wings forward Tomas Nosek was acquired by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 expansion draft on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old was selected fifth overall after appearing in 17 games over the last two seasons for Detroit. Nosek has tallied one goal and four penalty minutes in his brief NHL career.
Nosek spent much of the previous three seasons with the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins, guiding the team to the Calder Cup. He was the team’s leading scorer during the 2017 Calder Cup playoffs, posting 10 goals and 12 assists over 19 games.
Nosek was signed by the Red Wings to a two-year entry-level contract in 2014 and received a two-year contract extension in 2016.
