Hebert Qualifies for PGA Championship

Traverse City Golf and Country Club head golf professional Scott Hebert is returning to the PGA Championship for a fifth time.

Hebert qualified for the major event by finishing in the top 20 of last week’s PGA Professional Championship at Oregon’s Sunriver Resort. The 48-year-old finished tied for 16th at two-over par after improving his position by 25 spots on the final day of competition.

Set for Aug. 10-13 at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, N.C., Hebert’s appearance in the PGA Championship is his first since playing four straight years, from 2007-10. Hebert has missed the cut each time he has played.

A former player on the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour, Hebert is a six-time winner of the Michigan Open and an eight-time winner of the Michigan PGA Professional Championship, capturing last year’s title.
