Kingsley Names Kalkaska Grad Schuba as New Boys Coach

KINGSLEY – Kinsley High School announced Tuesday that it has hired Travis Schuba as its new varsity boys basketball coach.

A 2010 Kalkaska graduate, Schuba played collegiately at Madonna University, where he was twice named to the All-Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference First Team and holds the program’s career record for made 3-pointers and attempted 3’s.

“I am very excited and thankful to be a part of Kingsley High School and community,” said Schuba in a statement. “The support I have received already has been amazing and I am eager to start working to take this program to the next level.  More importantly, I am looking forward to helping mold these boys into great young men.”

At Kalkaska, Schuba earned Lake Michigan Conference First Team honors and was named All-Region and All-State in his junior and seniors seasons.

Prior to accepting the position at Kingsley, Schuba spent the 2016-17 season as a student assistant at Madonna and previously coached the Northern Express AAU program. He also played professionally for three seasons.
