Montgomery Fitting in at Home with Beach Bums

TRAVERSE CITY – You might need to grab a roster the next time you catch a game at Wuerfel Park.

The Beach made a number of moves recently and one is already paying big dividends.

Outfielder John Montgomery recently graduated from Eastern Michigan and has launched his professional career by hitting home runs in each of his first two games.

"I was a little nervous coming in, you know, mid-season, I think like 35 or something games in. But they’ve welcomed me right away,” Montgomery said. “The skip, he’s a great guy, he made me feel like I’m at home, and part of the team right away. So, I think that they’re doing a great job, and I love it so far."

"He’s been aggressive in the zone, and hopefully he continues to do that,” added Beach Bums manager Dan Rohn. “He’s been a nice bright spot for us, and hopefully that’ll continue."

Traverse City opens a three-game road series at the Lake Erie Crushers on Friday.
