Liu wins 2017 Tullymore Classic

STANWOOD – Yu Liu birdied her first two holes of the day to quickly erase a 2-stroke deficit on her way to a 4-under-par round of 68 to claim the Symetra Tour’s Tullymore Classic Championship by one shot.

Liu edged out a trio of golfers, including second round leader Lindsey Weaver, who started slowly, but recovered to shoot a 1-under 71.  Weaver was joined at 15-under by Jessica Welch, and Sophia Popov, both of whom carded 5-under rounds of 67 to move into contention.

Liu earns $15,000 with the victory a year after missing out on winning the 2016 Tullymore Classic, and having to settle for a fourth place finish.

The Symetra Tour now heads to Indiana, for the Donald Ross Centennial Classic in French Lick the weekend of July 7-9.
