Beach Bums Fall at Home to Wild Things

TRAVERSE CITY – The Traverse City Beach Bums fell for the 11th straight time, dropping a 4-1 contest to the Washington Wild Things at Wuerfel Park on Wednesday.

Leading 1-0 through seven innings, the Wild Things (38-30) tacked on three insurance runs by way of Kyle Reese’s solo home run and a two-run double from Brailin Jackson.

Traverse City’s lone run would cross the plate in the bottom half of the eighth on Will Kengor’s sacrifice fly. Jeff DeBlieux scored on the play.

Washington tagged Traverse City (24-43) starter Brian Bayliss for three earned runs on three hits over 7 2/3 innings. Bayliss struck out four and issued a pair of walks.

Alexis Rivera led the way at the plate for the Beach Bums, going 2-for-4.

Traverse City and Washington combined for just 10 hits.

The two teams concluded their three-game series Thursday. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
