East Jordan Looks for Continued Success Under Kitson

EAST JORDAN – The East Jordan football program quickly found success under first-year coach Greg Kitson last season.

The Red Devils opened with wins in four of their first five games en route to a 5-4 season. The winning mark was the first since 2013 and only the third since 2003.

East Jordan’s five-win campaign last year was an impressive turnaround for a program that had posted five winless seasons since 2006.

After narrowly missing out on the playoffs last fall, East Jordan is looking to clinch a playoff bid and compete in the Northern Michigan Football League Legacy division in 2017.

“You know, we came out last year with a 5-4 record, just missed the playoffs,” Kitson said. “We’re really looking at getting that sixth win. You know, I think that’s probably everyone’s goal. But you know, we’ve got kids that are really working towards that and that’s what they want. We need to continue to build on what we did last year.”

East Jordan welcomes in Oscoda on Thursday, Aug. 24.
