Ferris State Tops Wayne State In 2017 Homecoming Game

Big Rapids – In front of nearly 6,500 fans, the nationally 15th ranked Ferris State University football team defeated Wayne State University in the Bulldogs’ 2017 homecoming game Saturday.

With a 38-10 lead at the end of the first half, the Bulldogs continued to roll past the Warriors winning 59-17.

Ferris State is now 3-1 overall, and 2-1 in the GLIAC.

Sophomore quarterback Travis Russell completed 12 of 18 passes for 199 yards while accounting for three touchdowns.

“It was great for Travis to get settled in today and be able to execute the way he’s capable of executing,” says Ferris State Head Coach Tony Annese.

Russell adds, “A huge credit to my offensive line. I didn’t get sacked one time today. They were great. I had all the time in the world to find the open receivers.”

Ferris State will look to go 4-1 overall Saturday, October 7th, hosting Tiffin.
