Red Wings Close out Training Camp with Red-White Game

TRAVERSE CITY – The Detroit Red Wings closed out their training camp with their annual Red-White game at Traverse City’s Centre Ice Arena on Monday.

Team White rallied from a 3-0 deficit after the first period for a 5-4 win.

Matt Lorito, Dylan Sadowy, Corey Elkins, Tyler Bertuzzi and Tomas Tatar all scored for Team White.

“I think we played really good. I mean, it just showed,” Tatar said. “We had a lot of fun on the bench. We were down 3-0 and we turned it around. We were just trying to pushing, and push it, and then you know it was fun, to come back, obviously.”

Trevor Daley, Anthony Mantha, Dylan Larkin and Libor Sulak all scored for Team Red.

Jimmy Howard and Jared Coreau combined for 12 saves in net for Team White, while Petr Mrazek and Tom McCollum combined for 27 saves for Team Red.

“This is a nice step, to evaluate players,” coach Jeff Blashill said. “We’ve got eight exhibition games, and those are tricky at times. I’ve talked about that lots. But, as we go through it, we’ll get a better chance to continue to evaluate guys.”
