CMU Men’s Basketball Hosts Annual Scrimmage and Media Day

MT. PLEASANT – The Central Michigan men’s basketball team hosted its annual Maroon and Gold scrimmage and media day at McGuirk Arena on Thursday.

After going 16-16 a year ago, the Chippewas will need to replace the nation’s leading scorer in Marcus Keene, who left following his junior season to pursue a professional career. Keene currently plays for Cagliari Dinamo Academy in Italy.

The Chippewas are set to begin their sixth season under coach Keno Davis, who has led the team to a pair of Mid-American Conference West titles.

“Lot of unknowns this year, you know, with the experience we lost with Marcus Keene being the leading scorer and Braylon Rayson,” Davis said. “They had over 50 points a game, but we have a really deep team this year with a lot of talent.”
