CMU Men Roll Past Siena Heights in Season Opener

MT. PLEASANT – Kevin McKay and Cecil Williams combined to score 42 points as the Central Michigan men’s basketball team rolled to a 108-48 win over Siena Heights in its season opener at McGuirk Arena on Friday.

McKay led all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting and paced the Chippewas with nine rebounds, one block and three steals.

The Chippewas (1-0) held a 55-24 lead at the half and shot 54.2 percent (39-of-72) from the floor, outrebounding the Saints 45-30.

Twelve Chippewas finished in the scoring column.

Trevor Holston led NAIA Division II Siena Heights (1-1) with 12 points, as the Saints shot just 27.3 percent (15-of-55) from the field.

CMU is back on the court Monday, traveling south to Ann Arbor to face Michigan. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
