Cushingberry’s 25 Leads Ferris State Men Past Olivet
BIG RAPIDS – Drew Cushingberry’s 25 points, lifted the fifth-ranked Ferris State men’s basketball to a 99-84 non-conference win over Olivet College at Jim Wink Arena Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing 49-48 at the half, Cushingberry scored 18 of his team-high 25 points in the second half.
Charlevoix native Zach Hankins and Noah King scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, with Hankins tallying a double-double with 13 rebounds. DeShaun Thrower also scored 11 points in 17 minutes off the bench.
The Bulldogs held a 42-38 edge in rebounding, but turned the ball over 19 times which the Comets (1-1) converted into 21 points.
Jalen Adams led Olivet with a game-high 32 points.
Ferris State moved to 7-0 with the win and returns to its home court Saturday against Findlay. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
