Benzie Central Honors Exchange Student with Senior Night

BENZONIA – A 31-point win for the Benzie Central girls basketball team over Traverse City Central on Thursday capped a brief but exciting career for one Huskie.

The game marked the final for Denmark native Camilla Christiansen at Benzie Central, as the exchange student heads to Australia on Monday for the second semester of her exchange year.

“She just blended right in, and she’s super smart, and just a really nice girl,” Benzie Central coach Sarah Ross said. “She works hard all of the time.  And she made the adjustment to American basketball really well.”

Christiansen says she’ll treasure her time in northern Michigan.

“I learned a lot,” Christiansen said. “I learned a lot of different ways of playing, just different ways from how we played in Denmark. So, that’s been super awesome, to learn a lot of new stuff. I just learned a lot about friendship too, that I’ve got all of these amazing friends.”

In addition to her senior night honors, Christiansen was also named Snowcoming queen.
