Buckley Tops Manton in Cancer Awareness Game

MANTON – Manton hosted its first Manton & Buckley vs. Cancer game Saturday night, with the Bears winning the matchup, 62-60, between the two 2017 state semifinalists.

The two teams came together on the court before the game, breaking the huddle with the word, “Together.” The game was a cancer awareness game, with everyone wearing purple shirts to honor longtime Cadillac coach Jeff McDonald. The two schools sold shirts to fans in the communities, with the money going to a local child battling cancer.

On the court, the game lived up to the hype. Both teams were tied at 17 after one quarter and tied at 51 after three. The Bears put together a late run in the fourth to take home the victory.
