CMU Women Top Buffalo in Key MAC Matchup

MT. PLEASANT – Tinara Moore scored a game-high 24 points and the Central Michigan women’s basketball team moved to 9-0 in Mid-American Conference play with an 86-79 win over Buffalo at McGuirk Arena on Wednesday.

The Chippewas (17-3) opened with a 23-12 lead after the first quarter and led 38-25 at the half.

Presley Hudson joined Moore in double figures, tallying 22 points, six rebounds and five assists. Hudson was 6-of-11 from 3-point range, while Cassie Breen and Micaela Kelly contributed 15 and 12 points, respectively. Reyna Frost also scored 10 for CMU.

Cierra Dillard paced the Bulls (16-4, 7-2) with 22 points, while Stephanie Reid chipped in with 20.

The Chippewas held a 55-47 edge in rebounding and shot 40 percent (26-of-65) from the field while the Bulls struggled shooting, finishing at just 34.1 percent (28-of-82).

CMU returns to the court at Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:30 pm.
