Ferris State Hockey Snaps Skid, Shuts Out LSSU

SAULT STE. MARIE – Ferris State snapped a six-game skid with a 4-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over Lake Superior State on Friday.

Coale Norris gave the Bulldogs (10-14-1, 7-9-1) a 1-0 lead through one period, with Marshall Moise and Mitch Maloney chipping in with the assist.

Corey Mackin and Nate Kallen then stretched Ferris State’s lead to three with goals in the second period.

Ryker Killins also scored for the Bulldogs, as Darren Smith turned away 27 shots.

Mareks Mitens recorded 10 saves in net for the Lakers (5-16-4, 3-11-3).

The teams close out their two-game series at 7:07 p.m. Saturday.
