Bay Reps Claim Third Straight NMHL Title
TRAVERSE CITY – Jackson Ellis’s goal with 12:55 to play broke a 1-1 tie and proved to be enough, as the Bay Reps defeated Petoskey 2-1 to claim their third consecutive Northern Michigan Hockey League Championship on Saturday.
Kyle Hebner gave the Northmen the first lead of the game when he scored 14:08 into the first period.
The Reps would tie it up with a Jake Stevenson goal just 3:09 into the second period.
Veikka Lipsanen earned the win in net for the Reps.
Both teams now turn their attentions to the postseason. Petoskey visits Gaylord on Wednesday, while the Reps await the winner of Traverse City West and Muskegon Reeths Puffer.
