Chip Hills Wrestling Seeks Another Semifinal Appearance

REMUS – The Chippewa Hills wrestling team is preparing for the Division 3 state quarterfinal, where the Warriors will face Dowagiac on Friday. The team enters the tournament coming off its seventh straight regional title.

“Everything about this team and about everyone on it, it’s special and a lot different than other teams in the past,” senior Billy Koepf said.

The team’s senior class has a chance to add onto the program’s legacy, seeking its fourth straight semifinal appearance.

“Our strength is, I think, our seniors and the leadership they’re able to give,” Chippewa Hills head coach Nate Ethridge said. “This is their fourth consecutive league title, fourth consecutive district title, fourth consecutive regional title. They’ve done a great job.”

The Warriors’ ultimate goal is to get to the state finals for the first time since 2016 and win their first title as a team.

“Goal is always the same: to win a state title,” senior Austin Young said. “So if we do the right things and have the right mentality we can definitely do it.”
