Ferris State Beats Rival GVSU, Sets Program Record

BIG RAPIDS — Ferris State capped off its regular season with a 75-64 victory over rival Grand Valley State at home, finishing with a program record 29 wins in the regular season.

The Bulldogs only led by two points at halftime, but turned it on in the second half, scoring 50 points.

Drew Cushingberry led the way with 17 points, while Noah King had 11 points and DeShaun Thrower had 10 points off the bench.

Charlevoix native Zach Hankins had eight points, eight rebounds and five blocks for Ferris State.

The Bulldogs enter the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament as the No. 1 seed. They are seeking their fourth straight tournament title.

They will face No. 8 Saginaw Valley on Wednesday at home.
