Frankfort Upsets McBain, Snaps Ramblers Win Streak

FRANKFORT – Behind a 16-8 run down the stretch, Frankfort upset Class C No. 1 McBain and ended the Ramblers’ 59-game win streak with a 53-48 win on Monday.

The Ramblers (13-1) held an 18-16 lead after the first quarter but trailed 31-24 at the half.

McBain would strike back in the third, ending the quarter on a 13-0 to take a 40-37 lead to the fourth.

Matt Loney and Jaylon Rogers scored 18 and 12 points, respectively, to lead Frankfort. The two combined two score all 16 Panther points in the fourth quarter.

Nicolas Rodenbaugh paced McBain with a game-high 24 points, making five 3-pointers, with Seager Wiltzer tallying 15 points for the Ramblers.

McBain’s last regular-season loss came against Highland Conference foe Pine River on Feb. 13, 2015.

Frankfort (11-1) travels to Suttons Bay on Wednesday, while McBain visits Pine River on Friday.
