Buckley Overpowers Hillman, Returns to Breslin Center

GAYLORD – The Buckley boys basketball team is returning to the Class D state semifinals and the Breslin Center for a second straight year.

Buckley overpowered previously-unbeaten Hillman, 67-50, in a quarterfinal on Tuesday.

The Bears (20-5) carried a 17-10 lead to the second quarter and led 29-22 at the half.

Joey Weber and Austin Harris led Buckley with 19 points apiece.

Kory Henigan paced the Tigers with 15 points.

Hillman concludes its historic season at 24-1.

Buckley will now face Hillsdale Academy (24-2) in a semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Hillsdale handed Marcellus Howardsville a 66-38 loss on Tuesday.
