Buckley’s Blair Moss Stepping Down

BUCKLEY – Buckley boys basketball coach Blair Moss confirmed Tuesday that he is stepping down from his position.

Moss, who just recently wrapped up his fifth year as varsity head coach at Buckley, led the Bears to historical heights, guiding the school to consecutive MHSAA Class D runner-up state finishes in 2017 and 2018. The state finals appearances were the first in program history.

“You know, I’ve been talking to a lot of people that, with these seniors, I’ll probably go out with them. I wasn’t sure,” Moss said. “I took those three weeks and really pondered how much energy I had to move on. You know something, I just came to this decision that I think it’s time.”

Under Moss, Buckley went 74-25 in five seasons, including 21-6 in 2017-18.

“It definitely set the bar high for everyone that’s coming up, and will eventually try to beat our goal because that’s what they’re for,” Buckley senior Denver Cade said. “He was a major piece in what we were able to accomplish, and I hope more people in the future can try to do that too.”
