Manistee’s Harrigan Signs with Muskegon CC

MANISTEE – Manistee senior Shane Harrigan signed his National Letter of Intent with the Muskegon Community College men’s soccer program on Tuesday.

A goalkeeper, Harrigan said it was a tough choice between Muskegon CC and NCAA Division III Finlandia in Hancock. The ability to stay close to family and friends ultimately swayed Harrigan’s decision.

“Getting this offer, to me, has just been like the world to me. I mean, it’s been a crazy ride,” Harrigan said. “Seeing how big of a factor that soccer is becoming to this community, it’s just heart-warming to me. You know, it’s making me a better person. It’s making me a better goalie, seeing that I have this entire community backing me up basically.”

Harrigan, who led the Manistee to an 11-4-2 record in 2017, joins a Muskegon CC program that went 5-10 overall last season and 3-5 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.
