Coleman Preps for Another Semifinal
COLEMAN – The second-ranked Coleman softball team is coming off its closest postseason game in the quarterfinals, defeating Frankfort in a 1-0 shutout.
The Comets now prepare for their second straight state semifinal appearance, where they will take on Rogers City. It will be a matchup featuring the top two teams in the state.
Coleman, who won its fourth straight regional title this postseason, features one of the top lineups in the state, with eight players hitting above .300 this year.
“We’re more cohesive as a team, just being in practice and having more games under our belt, you learn to work better as a unit,” MacKenzie Miller said. “Because no matter what you do, you know that you’re one of the top four teams in the state, and that’s something to be proud of because not everyone gets to that point.”
First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday.
