Campbell Leads Ferris State in Blow Out Win Over East Stroudsburg
BIG RAPIDS – Jayru Campbell threw for 204 yards and rushed another 100 as Ferris State opened its 2018 season in dominant fashion with a 49-17 win over East Stroudsburg at Top Taggart Field on Thursday.
The Bulldogs rolled out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and led 42-3 at the half.
In his first start under center, Campbell was 7-of-14 for 204 yards and a pair of scores while carrying the ball 12 times for 100 yards and a score.
Travis Russell ran for 79 yards and a touchdown on eight carries while going 5-for-7 through the air for 56 yards and an interception.
The Bulldogs outgained 649-271, including 389-37 on the ground.
Ferris State is back in action at home Saturday, Sept. 8, hosting Findlay.
